Major: Recreation Management
Year in School: Senior. I’ll be starting my graduate program for Strength and Conditioning after the season.
Stadiums excited to play at: I’m really excited to go to The Big House in Michigan, and also I’m excited to play in Nebraska. There’s a lot of history in both places.
One thing people don’t know about you: I speak Chinese and I’m minoring in Chinese. I served my mission in Taiwan and I fell in love with the language. I absolutely love learning it!
Other sports you enjoy: In high school, I played baseball and I wrestled.
Favorite movie: Dumb and Dumber. Classic comedy.
Favorite actor: There’s no such thing as a bad Denzel Washington movie.
Favorite food: You know it’s pretty funny…I have fallen in love with chicken and broccoli. And of course, peanut butter. I’m addicted to it.
Three things you do in the offseason: Cook, train, and visit St. George to spend time with family.
Who do you look up to: The first people that comes to my mind are my parents. They give my advice and I couldn’t ask for better examples in the home. I also look up to and respect Coach Wintrich and his entire staff. They show up every day to practice and increase the energy on the team.
Nicknames: I probably have the most solid nickname on the team: Shaky. Also, some of my teammates call me Nate-Weight.
Pre-game ritual: I always shoot a text to my family. I take a picture of the locker room and when my jersey is set up and the locker looks good. I also listen to mellow music to keep my nerves down.
Favorite football memory: My first carry against Nevada. It’s a little tainted because we didn’t win the game, but I felt like the coaches prepared me well. It was so nice to fill the shoes that I needed to.
Major: Marriage and Family Studies
Year in School: Senior.
Stadiums excited to play at: I’m excited to go back to California and play in the Rose Bowl, because my family will be coming to watch.
One thing people don’t know about you: I make my own rap music. No one makes good rap music today, so I try and fill that void. I also love to act.
Favorite actor: Tupac was a good actor.
Walk-up song: I would probably walk up to one of my own rap songs. Either “Anthem,” or “Red-Shirt Season.”
Favorite food: I love pizza. Just pepperoni and just sausage on it, though.
Three things you do in the offseason: You’ll find me in the studio, playing football, or looking for a job.
Nicknames: Everyone calls me Pac, like Tupac. They all think I look like him or something.
Pre-game ritual: I have to go and smell each end zone before the game starts. I actually have to get down on the ground and smell it.
Favorite football memory: The first time I put on the pads and played at BYU. It’s nice to contribute to a team and do the thing that you love.
