Each Wednesday until the season opener on Feb. 9, one of five new players on this year's softball roster will be featured on the blog. Check back every Wednesday to meet the newcomers.
Why did you come to BYU?
I came to BYU to further my education at a school that matches my standards and values. And the campus is super pretty, so that’s a plus.
When did you start playing softball?
I played baseball until my freshman year in high school, and then I switched to softball.
Who do you look up to the most?
The people I look up to the most are my parents. They are my role models and I hope to be like them when I grow up.
Do you have any pregame rituals?
I’m very superstitious. I listen to the same pregame playlist to pump me up. I’ve done that since I can remember.
What is your favorite sport besides softball?
Definitely basketball. I love watching and playing it, and I miss it a lot.
What is your favorite softball memory?
During my senior year of high school I hit four home runs in one game. It was pretty cool.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I’d probably travel to Europe. I’ve never been there and it looks like an awesome place to tour.
What is one thing few people know about you?
Something that not many people know about me is that I grew up on a potato farm. Stereotypical Idaho girl, I know. I can also juggle, sometimes depending on the day.
When you’re not playing softball, what are you doing?
I like the outdoors, like camping, boating, fishing, riding four wheelers, etc. If I’m not playing softball or studying for school, that’s probably what I’m doing.
What is the most embarrassing song on your phone?
Probably either “Hoedown Throwdown” by Miley Cyrus or “Fergalicious” by Fergie. Those are my jams.
What is your dream job?
Probably to be a physical therapist. I just think that kind of stuff is super cool.
What is your favorite thing about BYU?
My favorite thing would have to be either my teammates and friends, the beautiful campus or all of the free food we get.
